A big tide in September can result in a wader extravaganza at their roost sites. So it was on such a day that I led a group around Farlington Marshes.

Summer weather had returned but there was no doubt it was autumn with the range of birds found on a guided birdwatching trip at RSPB Medmerry.

September is typically one of the best months to see migratory birds. On a guided birdwatching trip to Church Norton early in the month a great mix of these travelling species were found.
