Below are organised group events, if you are interested in a bespoke event or one-to-one guiding then please contact me on the email address below.

Upcoming events:

Saturday 22nd February, West Dean Woods area, 9 am - 1 pm

Tuesday 4th March, Nutbourne Channel, 8.30 am - 12.30 pm

Sunday 9th March, Farlington Marshes, 9 am - 1 pm

Saturday 22nd March, West Dean Woods area, 9 am - 1 pm

Saturday 29th March, Medmerry, 9 am - 1 pm

Each event above is limited to 6 spaces and is £35 per person.

At these events you will learn all about birds - from finding and identifying, to their behaviour and habits. Every event is planned around maximum engagement for those attending, and is held in a friendly atmosphere. Group sizes are always kept small to enable a better learning experience.

Locations are usually in West Sussex or Hampshire, and these range from South Downs woodland to coastal sites such as those in Chichester Harbour and Langstone Harbour.

These sessions are suitable for all levels of knowledge, including beginners. Further details about each event including where to meet are given on booking. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Goshawks and Woodcock in a Woodland Outing, Guided Birdwatching

It has been a warm winter and numerous days have felt spring-like. A trip to the woods in early February was such a day, full of activity and birdsong. From the off, ravens could be heard. They were somewhere behind the canopy of branches above us. Fortuitously one flew towards us and we watched as it flew just above the treetops in our vicinity. A chaffinch was singing, the first song from this species that I had heard this year. A favourite of many, a treecreeper, gave a brief view as it characteristically landed at the base of a large tree and worked its way up the ivy-covered trunk.

Chichester Harbour Trip Report, Guided Birdwatching 16th Nov 2019

I had planned a shorter guided outing to Nutbourne Channel, Chichester Harbour, although it ended up being not so short! This is an area where you can often get closer to wetland bird species than at most locations. There had been a lot of rain recently, fortunately this trip was on a wonderful winters day, bright and crisp.
